how much this spokesperson knows about judicial ethics in other jurisdictions, but no one has taken her on voir dire to find out just how many judicial ethics experiences she has had in just how many other jurisdictions.

It isn't as if even a large jurisdiction (e.g. Texas) has a lot of judicial ethics decisions. Is a spokesperson supposed to have actually been involved in a large number of cases?

That is not possible.

Be aware of them? That is pretty much what a person does who talks about ethics in various jurisdictions.

I just sat through a wonderful presentation by Mssr Phillips, who used to be on the Texas Supreme Court about ethics. Judicial ethics in specific areas is a favorite area of study of his, yet even he doesn't have a lot of experience in the area.

It just isn't an area where one gets a lot of experience, even if one litigates, lobbies, researches or publishes in the area.

Just an FYI for anonymous. It isn't like ADR where there are lots of journals, thousand of mediations conducted a day and it is easy to have a lot of experience by just breathing.

Anyway, just a thought.

Dear Stephen: Thanks for your defense -- I deleted the anonymous comment to which your comment referred, but I've left your response, because I think it's quite good and on point.
