Hope that helps!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15642624069253492561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36806700.post-54379849963068783962010-08-08T23:27:49.405-07:002010-08-08T23:27:49.405-07:00Hello Nancy:

Nancy, I have started a new job and I have been informed that I need to complete the cases I have and not to start new ones. I have told my current clients who many are upset that I am "abandoning" them after I explained I may not be able to complete their cases due to the time constraint with my new job. How do I best handle this situation?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36806700.post-41066848502297144422010-06-07T19:22:13.055-07:002010-06-07T19:22:13.055-07:00Absolutely, Anonymous--that's a good place to ...Absolutely, Anonymous--that's a good place to look, along w/the state ethics rules (whichever one would apply to a particular situation).Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15642624069253492561noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36806700.post-57668915139311917972010-06-07T15:58:58.159-07:002010-06-07T15:58:58.159-07:00What about ABA Model Rule 1.16?What about ABA Model Rule 1.16?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36806700.post-88669448702553964902010-06-06T09:27:37.784-07:002010-06-06T09:27:37.784-07:00I'm using Martyn & Fox, Traversing the Eth...I'm using Martyn & Fox, Traversing the Ethical Minefield because it seems to lend itself well to the approach I want to use. I wrote up some notes about it a while ago. I've never taught ethics before, and I may not know what I'm getting myself into, but there you go.

I made my avatar at http://www.sp-studio.de/James Milleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07368391001719650329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36806700.post-310231283400918072010-06-06T08:10:50.332-07:002010-06-06T08:10:50.332-07:00Hi, Jim (and I love your avatar--how'd you get...Hi, Jim (and I love your avatar--how'd you get that?)! We're beginning the drafting process this summer, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that we can do the draft at lightning speed, but we have a second summer if we need it. Thanks for the affirming comments about our approach! Sounds like your approach is very similar to mine: what factors make good lawyers violate the rules? I don't think it's that they don't know the rules.James Milleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07368391001719650329noreply@blogger.com
